The cherry blossoms were already out last week. Weather was perfect, lay out sprawled on the grass, seeing pink against clear blue.
There are dragons in the city, don’t you know?

The Fall (site) - absolutely stunning visuals (see here), shot in 18 on-site-locations around the world. Lee Pace from Pushing Daisies is also a huge bonus.
The semester is winding down. I’m getting wound up. But it’ll end well, I think. It usually does. Well, ja.

Wonderland really is that colorful. Alice told me herself.
It’s got color that overtakes all your vision and leaves you seeing nothing else.
There are other ways to leave you seeing nothing else. It’s too easy to get blind-sided.

We had this assignment, back in senior year of high school; AP Psychology. We were given a sheet with four(?) images, and we were to write a little blurb for each one - whatever came to mind first. One of the images was of a man sitting at a table, grabbing the arm and attention of a lady. I took it as him being a customer at a coffee shop/restaurant and her as a waitress therein. When this assignment was given, I… didn’t do it.. ..properly. Sometime thereafter though, I randomly came across it again and wrote this little piece:
---
In a flash of what he thought was recognition, he took hold of her arm only to realize his mistake too late. Her character was one to to stress the importance of first impressions; though perhaps this time around as she accepted his offers of an apology, she thought they always had the whole rest of their lifetimes to make up for those initial ones.
Twenty-five years later they found themselves in the same setting. This time she sat across from him, hiding a smile behind a cup of coffee. He still couldn’t believe that out of all of life’s silly sayings, it was this one that proved itself true.
---
Points to you if you can figure out life’s silly saying.
This pervasive sadness comes and goes as it pleases.
It doesn’t always need a reason, and it doesn’t always stay for long. It just makes everything a little darker, a little duller, a little more unsuitable.
Of course it’s never anything to dwell on because it comes, and it goes.
Everything gets so messy.

I can now say that I’ve been to a speakeasy.
I can’t believe it took me so long to watch High School Musical 1 & 2. These movies are quite entertaining. I laugh every time the little Russian boy comes on with his funny hats, his sister captures the Super Sweet 16 brat perfectly, and the main couple is really really very cute from the get go. What happened to the guy though between movie one and two? He got a lot… gayer. Especially that Lion King Simba-esque soliloquy, I was laughing too hard to watch it properly. I did catch the trek from grassy knoll into desert terrain and the literal self-reflection, I couldn’t hear what he was singing through it all, but all I needed to know was that that short solo journey helped him find himself. See? Simba-esque.
Well ffter watching that movie, I am beginning to crave summer again. I’m ready for warm weather! Sun! Dresses! Longer days! And the days are getting longer! ! !! Woo!!!
!!
!
..this summer is my last..
The first week of school is always so deceptively easy. Early dismissals, canceled classes… long-winded and detailed discussions on how to assess the world. Yes, we package designers have to consider these things. It is of the utmost importance for our successful futures.
It’s all light hearted and mindless really… FOR NOW.

I have work tomorrow. It’s fun, though that is not the face of fun. It is the face of tired. There were a lot of things I wanted to do this break that I didn’t get to do because I was busy with work and school and other miscellaneous things. But there are ideas running through my head right now. Like apps and languages and design… I need more JUST ME time, with no obligations to do other things. I have three days left. Yes. Yes. noooooo
I am resigned.
Do I care? Of course I do, but at the moment all I feel is resignation.
This is how the world works: you care, about the one thing somebody else doesn’t give a shit about. You care, they don’t.
If you’ve taken the time to read this, then take the time to heed this: don’t tamper with an artist’s work.
one of those days
2008/01/17

It’s just one of those days and it’s been a long week. Actually, it’s been a long three weeks and it won’t end till Wednesday. Just gotta keep going!
...I try to stay optimistic and patient, but it gets hard. I’m sorry if you get the ugly side of me. I think I’m at a low point at the moment… just gotta keep going, right?
